Hey guys, an update from Zenkaikon 09!

Well it was really a great con. Me and a friend drove there and then we got into the huge-a$$ preregistration line (isn't the point of registering online so that you can avoid all the lines? Lol!). So we waited for like an hour. It was actually really fun; we were in line behind this big Akatsuki group and even though I'm not a Naruto fan, they were really good cosplayers from what I could see. I got my first couple pictures in line, met up with my other friend, got glomped by a Xion and a Sokka, found dustyroxas (one of two people at the con who found her!! yay me!! haha), got atacked by random cosplayers at several different times, and saw my other friend.
When we finally got into the con we walked around a bit. Someone bumped into me and broke off like 6 spikes on my chakrams (one had already broken off in the prereg line), so at that point we put them back in the car so they wouldn't get any more damaged. After that we pretty much walked around for a while, I got judged for the Hall Cosplay Contest, and we talked to friends and other cosplayers.
After a couple hours I saw , , and . We hung out for a while and had a ton of fun causing huge traffic blocks because of pictures by the Artist's Alley, heh. Then and I suggested a random photoshoot (because we'd never resolved the problems with organizing one for the con on the forums). Therefore, the whole group of us made our way outside followed by a few friends. We preceded to have a mini photoshoot underneath a tree (it was really cool 'cause we had a photographer with a professional camera come up and start taking pics-- we never got his name, so if you are him, please let us know so we can see what you shot! ) and we managed to get a pic of Demyx hanging by the fountains (even though the staff yelled at us for it XD). Then we found a set of awesome stairs and took a bunch of pics on there. At that point, my friend who'd put up with my shenanigans all day had to leave, so I left the photoshoot.
Afterwards I had to go into the main events room for the HCC. After the skits (there were only like 5, and all of them involved dancing, haha) all of the HCC entrants walked on to music. When it was my turn I was so nervous-- but I walked on and as soon as I got up on stage I was greeted by a whole room full of screams! I felt so awesome. I wish I could have had my chakrams to pose with, but it was still cool.
I ended up not winning anything in the HCC. I was kind of surprised but not disappointed-- the girl who won Best in Show was AMAZING and she totally deserved it! I felt so happy for all the people who won something! Good job, guys!
After the Masquerade I had to leave. I hugged my friends forever! I really didn't want to leave but I had to. I had so much fun and I can't wait to see everyone again!!
